Half Life 2 Save Problem

hello guys,
well, i'm really sad of half-life 2. I simply install the game, start it..everything ok, but the time i press SAVE the game ends... When i launch the game, the game is saved, but the game ends, so it's unplayable this way.. :(

The error i get is like this:

are you using a no cd crack? maybe you are using a bad programmed one, also check if there are patches for the game

Do you have the DotNet Microsoft thing installed? You may want to get that.

I have read about this before, you need to get the patch by steam, which corrects the problem by restarting steam (if you own the game)
