Yeah, I'm running HL2 on my Acer Ferrari 3200 and the game runs well, just that at random times within the game I lose control of the mouse and the in-game camera begins to spin around the y-axis (looking either up or down) and I have to shake the mouse again to gain control again.
I don't know what's going on here.

ok, so your problem is either a ++++ty mouse or a very colourful/reflective surface..
i'm assuming it's an optical mouse.. if it's a cheap one, things like that happen for no reason.. exept when you're on a multi-coloured surface like a book or a ++++ty mousepad..
especially if the surface is shiney..
try a different surface and if it still does it then try a new mouse. I suggest a laser mouse. those things are amazing.. or an optical mouse with a $25+(american) price tag like one from microsoft.. the intellimouse explorer is an excellent example of one..

I have had the same problem with a couple of my opticle mouses I usally just need to clean my mouse pad or bottom of mouse and it will work alright for a while. althoe I have a logitech mouse that is way ****** up and does it every couple of minutes no matter what surface it is on or any thing it was brand new to so I was preatty mad when itstarted doing it

sometimes ur joystick can affect the ingame controls, i often have a problem with the throttle control on my joystick, it tends to make me spin in circles making it hilarious for people watching me.
