Got a problem with far cry on a machine I built for someone else.

Everything is fine except for the sound effects (shooting, footsteps etc...). I've tried reinstalling the game a few times, messing about with the sound drivers on the mother board (ABit IC7-G) and stuff like that.

The thing is the system is nearly the exact same as the one I built myself, bar the motherboard, so it's gotta be a problem there?????

Haven't really had a huge amount of time to mess with it myself...
I've tried next to nuthin' and I'm all out of ideas :beigeconf .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No sound card... sound straight off the motherboard.

Ya I messed about with the sound settings in the game to no avail. Haven't done anything with directX though...
