How do you fix error 1155?

hello, i just installed a modem/soundcard from an old packard bell computer and now when i startup my computer i get an error message that says

1155: System board comm port address assignment conflict.

please help me. thank you.

how far can you get when you're booting up? can you get into windows or is it just an error screen?... assuming the modem/soundcard is legacy, it might have jumpers/switches on the circuit board you might haveta configure before you install it... maybe some jumpers assign the com port or irq's... g'luck
