16X speed dvd writer question

Hi,

Ive bought this DVD+-R/RW 16X DUAL LAYER OEM re-writer manufactured by NEC, basically what does this mean to me??

Ive installed it but when i copy a dvd or put a avi, mpeg etc onto dvd-r it only burns at 2.5, even though the blank dvd can be X4.

can someone explain to this perant what the info about the dvd means to me.

It should burn at the speed the DVD+/-R is supposed to handle... However, you may need to upgrade the firmware on the burner to do so.

I suggest going to the NEC site & see what the Support Area has to say about this issue.

if using dvd-r ridata 8x or 8x datawrite greys will burn at that speed 12x on verbs. might need to update version of nero 6.3.1.20 or 6.3.1.25 both i know are fine on NEC 16x. if burning at 2.4 using dvd+r disks? no need to update firmware.

Im using nero but isnt nero version 6.6.0.0 better than 6.3.1.20 ??

if not ill have to buy 6.3.1.20

no 6.6.0.0 is most recent. is this demo version u have or full retail
