HI guys.

I just installed office 2003 over my office xp pro. And now everytime that I startup my pc, it logs me into a new user, temp user to be exact. It says that my user settings are corrupt and unable to load. Now everytime that I log on I loose all my settings and have to be content with xp's default settings.

I just want to know why this is happening and what can i do to fix the problem.

Thanks.

This means you have corrupted your profile. Basically you need to look under c:\documents and settings\your normal username and delete everything under there except for My Documents, My Pictures, Favorites, etc. Make sure you can see hidden files, and look for everything that looks like system stuff and delete it.

If you get Access Denied when you try to access the area, you need to sign on as an admin.

Next time you sign on, the system will re-create your profile, but you'll have to fix your settings again. Some of your programs might get upset over this.

But let's get some more opinions before jumping in, as someone else may have a simpler answer.

I'm going to give you an advice. Its not good install newer M$ programs over the older ones. It' better uninstall the previous versios and the install the new one. Updating older versions of microsoft programs without uninstall them first is very common to convert your system in a mess, like updating win me to xp without format first
