Need for Speed Underground 2 problem?

hi, i dunno if ne one else is having this problem... but when i try to run nfsu2 from the no-cd or backup cd cracks i get the error from windows which says "this program has encountered a problem and needs to close......." and then w/ the option as to whether or not to send an error report to microsoft... wondering if ne one could help me out with it, thanks in advance

Yes help us out. I have the same problem.
I installed the game, copied the crack and it ain't working.
Then i reinstalled the game, downloaded the 1.1US patch with 1.1 crack and still not working.

HELP I WANT TO PLAY!

Hmmm i think it has something to do with directx 9.0c. Too bad it doesn't wanna install on my comp :flaming:

I have direct X 9.0c and it does the same thing.

Yes it's because of dx 9.0c.. those who have xp sp 2... the one cracked before the official release, really have 9.0b.. but win recons it as 9.0c (cause thats the version sp 2 comes with). Soo.. the problem should be solved if .. you either install xp sp 1 and apply dx 9.0c or get sowehow official release of sp 2

I have the official SP2 from Microsoft on CD and had Direct X 9.0c for ages, waaaay before I got SP2 which is why it baffles me, Ive thought about it being SP2 but its not as my mate uses SP2 and it works fine.

dude, yeah.. that's also what i'm figuring the problem to be, as i think i had that win xp w/ the not-quite-sp2.... so right now i'm moving files over to my second hd to prepare for a clean install of a win xp w/ sp 2. i'll keep u guys posted on whether or not that works

Is there a way you can play online whit a generated cd-key? I`ve updated the game whit the latest patch and everything works to I login and it want to register my cd-key (wich is fake)

yeah, i installed a new version of windows, dx9 updated like it should and the game runs now. good luck everybody

Im re-formmating again on Wednesday 17th so Ill post back to see if it works, if so thats what people need to do to get it to work I guess.

hey im having the same problems and i dont im reply this like 3 months after that thread was made.. so how can i get the no cd program to work? is there now a update from microsoft taht will fix it? or what.. can somone plz help me

The no-cd files worked perfectly for me .... even though I use Windows XP Sp2 & Directx9.0c

Where did u get ur file from? ive tried like 7 diffrent places and gottin the files and it does the samething.. it like crashes and shows the windows error message. its really makin me mad.. the reason i need it is that i lost my cd.. and i really want to play it.. so like where did get ur file from?
