Here are the final settings and exact procedure i realised...

TESTED FOR XP & 2003
ENGLISH VERSION OF SACRED

alcohol 120 v1.9.2.170
*Go to file->options->emulation and tick the RMPS (Recordable Media Physical Signature)
Click on image burning wizard
browse to the Sacred CD1.mds file you unpacked from this file

To download the thing use flashget
Or browse to this page and left klik on it, it will tell you to save as etc

With the above there was no need to run the daemon tools for the cd verification

I uninstalled the eng. version and installed the german version.
And all i can say:
Same procedure:
1 try ) Ask for cd2 -> cancel
2 try ) small black Box, long time black screen -> cancel
3 try ) game starts in german

PS4: For Sacred CD Emulation -Turn off the Antivirus Program (Info given by niki_mbr thank him):
For Sacred CD Emulation -Try turning off the Antivirus Program or the real-time protection. I thing that this somtimes causes the CD check to fail.

well it still doesnt work. I have burned 3 discs now. 1 at 4x speed with original MDS file and one with the other one created by dems. The last try here was the original MDS again but at 1x speed. Still no luck
I burned using the latest alcohol version turning on rmps and the things with the emulation checkboxes.
The i installed the game (ENG ver.) then the plus expansion (ENG ver.)

BUT no go :(

Seems we are not alone. Even some guys (girls) have the same problem except with the original discs.. To many that lead to the conclusion that it has something to do with the drive...

yes Mad_Max911 - i have had the same. I dont know if u have read my older posts or not but i wrote there that i burned fake cd1 on CD-RW ( cos dont wanted to waste CD-R) but still had disc verif error. After some combinations on this CD-RW i decided to burn on CD-R and.... Hurrrraaa!!!! i saw what u saw ---> First it came up with a dos window and checked alot of files in the sacred library and THEN the game started ... so i thought then that it was due CD-RW media. But later when i want start game again it failed - even on that CD-R !!! This was some days ago and since that day i havnt started game !!!! i can play only old 1.66 version ( this version has no-cd crack)
Hmmm i have seen in threads on this forum that some ppl has working fake cd and other no - i dont know what is the issue and im all mixed up now. I also uninstalled Alkohol after burning , cleaned registry ( jv16 and reg cleaner) then restart comp , installed clean copy of sacred then 1.7 ( or sacred and then + without 1.7 cos "+" is 1.8 itself ) but still FAIL. Im out of idaes now - its sad that Ascaron piss out us

Yeah will do. Also i come to think about it i didnt try burning with my DVD-R but i dont think it'l make any difference since i tried so many other optical drives..
I think i also would spend a DVD-R just for fun :) to see if that might work..

I figured out using process explorer that sacred.exe opens a protectCD entry in the registry so it seems to be them who are protecting the CD

Btw couldnt help noticing the reg file on CD 1. The vob-pcd.reg It seems to to be somekind of a protecd registry file??

Man I know what you mean, this method just doesn’t work for everyone, I tried 2 CD’S bought CD-R and CD-RW, I enabled RMPS but my writer doesn’t even support the RAW/DATO method and when I chose VOB ProtectCD v5 it gives me an error something about my drive not being able to make a 1:1 copy with this protection. Anyway… my drive had problems with the original CD since I applied the 1.7 patch. There has to be another way… maybe Daemon Tools v4 will emulate it… ++++ I don’t know…

i checked some forums yesterday looking 4 solution for 1.7 and "+" but dunno. Yes Sacred use Protect-CD VOB 5 protection - check on http://www.makeabackup.com/database-S.html .I found on another forums that 1 guy installed new ASPI drivers (system ASPI cos there is now Nero ASPI installed if U have Nero) and Sacred started works. But it was 2 months ago when 1.66 was - but maybe now with 1.7 or "+" (1.8) it will works too - i must try it. Also i found that Sacred ( his protection ) detects installed burning/emulating and blacklist them.

Does anyone know the password to extract this file into Sacred CD1.MDS and Sacred CD1.MDF files?

Hi!

First: Great Work!!!! Cd works for me.
Perhaps you should put some Info of this into the first post:

First: I allways wanted to play the german version of the game, but I
thougt the starter-cd only works with the english Version.
So i installed the English Version + eng Patch and put in the burned 'start cd'
And then i got the Message:

'Überprüfe auf original Cd, bitte haben sie etwas Geduld'
'Bitte legen Sie CD2 ein'

So, i got the german check to my english Version.
Because of my german Win-Xp?
So I stopped the check and tried it again from CD or HD (can't remember)
AND: the small black Box appeared and the game tried to start
The first time it failed (long time just black Screen and 100%cpu usage) so STRG, ALT, DEL and stopped the Process.
So i tried it again and the game started in 5 sec. YIPPIE!!!

So the game asked for cd2, but started with burned start-cd1

Next i uninstalled the eng. version and installed the german version.
And all i can say:
Same procedure:
1 try ) Ask for cd2 -> cancel
2 try ) small black Box, long time black screen -> cancel
3 try ) game starts in german :D

and now always 5 sec to start

someone really needs to make a patch for this.. Who master the skills of cracking this game??
I found something that might be usefull..
Download processexplorer from here http://www.sysinternals.com/files/procexpnt.zip
Then run the game with a cd so it will take time to verify. Quickly after starting the game, start processexplorer and scroll down to sacred.. Then you can see all of the actions that are being made when the game is starting.
One of the things i noticed was the registry string it called. VOB/protectCD.
I tried shutting it down but my system totally rebooted..
Dont know if this is usefull in anyways for someone.. Just a thought

Its the games copy protection
Thats why you have to select (before burning) *Datatype: VOB ProtectCD v5 to emulate it

I have recorded in a 2 years old samsung drive at 16X in a MOORE CD, and I can play sacred plus everytime I want.

the trick is in editing the regestry every tyme you want to play sacred.

everytime you begin the game, he put an entry in the regestry, so you just need to delete that entry, the entry is called VOB de description is VOBProtection.

after you put the backup CD in the drive (emulation CD in some cases :)... ) you must go to the regestry and delete the entry made by the alchool.

them it's just start the game... and "já está :)"...

P.S.*-don't forget to activate the RPMS again in the alchool, every time you want to start a new game.

well as naive i was i tried deleting the vob protectCD registry entry and installing those ASPI drivers... Ofcourse it didnt work either :(
I even tried with daemon tools on with the rmps ticked and also uninstalled every damn burning software i have but no luck.... AGAIN!

I've tried it for two first times it don't worked, but then i've realised that I should burn image into the CD with 4X speed or lower!!!!

I burnt it again and this time it worked, i can have a backup of the game, but only for v1.5 and older, because i have updated to 1.7 and now the game detect that I have Alcohol installed on my computer and refuse to lauch ("Copy Protection Emulation Software detected"), but if I don't have Alcohol running, the game detect that it's a fake cd :/

I have tried to burn image of CD but I have found a problem with Alcohol 120. How can I burn CD with *Datatype: VOB ProtectCD v5 and *Write method: RAW DAO?
If I choose VOB ProtectCD v5, I can burn only RAW SAO + SUB. What is wrong? (Last version of Alcohol 120 1.9.2 1705 and TEAC CD-W552E or TEAC DV-W516G).

just use daemon tools with daemon script to turn rmps emulation back on (like every 2 secodns or something) i've been using this method ever since the game came out ... no problems with any patches even sacred plus!

ok now im pissed lol , finally i got something else then verification error , game starts , dos prompt opens with file chck , and then black screen , total blocked system for 10 minutes , had to reset to go somewhere , and now disk verification error back again (no matter deleting entry VOB in registry etc)

I've bought the game (1.8) and I try to launch it but I can't. I've the "Copy Protection Emulation Software detected" message. :flaming:
So I've uninstalled my Alcohol, shearched in my registry the words 'alcohol', 'deamon', 'clone' and destroyed entries that looks from those products.

I've just donwload and installed the last mobo drivers. It's still not working !!!

OK, Ive been readin this forum for a while now. I noticed that there is a HUGE confusion within the people of this forum. Allow me to clear things up you people.

Firstly the orginal post of this thread was for Sacred 1.8 and Sacred Plus 1.8, to be precise its 1.8.1.x6, where x is the language.

Now as time progressed Sacred had another patch which is the latest as of now. i.e. version 1.8.2.x6.

So whats the difference. Well the fixlist iks avaliable from the official forum. But it terms of protection, it has been upgraded. What the new patch actually does is it will AUTO modify your ALCOHOL 1705 (latest) settings to DISABLE RPMS which is ESSENTIAL to allow emulating the SacredCD1 mini image.

Well, so what does this means? well you can play all the way up to version 1.8.1.x6.
But from 1.8.2.x6 to whatever. There are people that has got it to work but the majority will have no chance.
I made an attempt myself. I did get it to work from 4 tries.
Assesment so far:
If you start Sacred Plus 1.8.2.x6, the DETECTION pop up is actually detecting all virtual emulators such as alcohol and if detected it will change the default setting to turn off all EMULATION. Since I only have alcohol install I can only speak from alcohol 1.705 point of view.

I hope that clear things up a bit for people.
