Quite obviously yes, but that is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of.
*points at Windows XP original release, no activation required*
*points at Windows XP Pro Corporate, no activation required*

Since when did XP corp have no activation?

Since it was released.

Hmm I wonder if that has to do with areas it was released in, I remember buying XP corp when it was first released and the OOBE activation it had. Perhaps different countries were luckier, such as the US.

Where the heck are you? I've got 3 legit copies of XP Corp (purchased in the US) and none of them have required activation.

XP Corp you didn't have to activate, maybe your getting confused with putting in the CD key? For Home you had to, I remember this being a big thing people had a problem with when it came out. If you change out like three hardware devices you have to reactivate it. I'm not sure about Pro, I bought a copy from my school for like 15 bucks and I don't remember having to do that.

I know what it was, I get sent out my own copies of Microsoft products cause I am an MSCE, so got the option to buy early, it could be I got it when before they decided to remove, but yeah the XP corp I had did require activation, got fed up with activating it all the time I changed the OOBE stuff in the registry to skip it after installation.
