After downloading DirectX v9.0c, there should be an executable file (.exe) file to load the software onto your computer, it may need un-zipping first though :)

After it has been installed goto Run, and type dxdiag, this will tell you if it has been installed correctly

Did you go here ?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0A9B6820-BFBB-4799-9908-D418CDEAC197&displaylang=en

Press download.

After install and reboot, go to Start -> Run and type dxdiag. At bottom it will tell you current Directx.

Edit, just noticed Brick said the same thing :D

ok i can't find a file which ends with .exe !!! is .exe same as application ???? i did that (dloading fr microsoft) too but everytime i installed it ... after pressing install button ... and within 1 second it has said that it was successfull ... i dun think my pc is really that fast ... and when i reboot and run "dxdiag" it still shows me the directX8.1 ... omg i'm going crazy ... there are too many files in the redist version and i dun know how 2 differentiate between .exe and application ..

thanks .. currently my pc is protected by kaspersky anti virus (paid edition ) and spywatch (paid edition) also ...

Try disabling some of the progs you have running in background (anti-virus, that spywatch, etc) before running the .exe that you should get after downloading Dx from microsoft

To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk.

click on the above link remeber where you saved it say c: dx9c {folder} make anew folder name it

once its downloaded click on the file it will then ask you where to extract it piont it to c: dx9c folder
then once its extracted open folder then click on dxsetup thats it reboot after install hope it helps

When you download the DX9.0c redist, and execute it, it extracts the file to a location on your computer. You can change the location it exctracts to, but default is docs and settings/local settings/temp or somesuch. Change the location to an obvious folder, extract it, and navigate to the folder. Run "setup.exe" and it should be all good!

I had a feeling it was coming to this. My other computer took DX9c no problem.
