no mame in dos?

when I try to use mame in dos I get a message -- bad command file of file name -- I just downloaded mame 87. if you can help please answer?

Just check if you have writen the name of the .exe file correctly and that you are in the directory where the .exe is.

had to partition my hard drive to get it to run. Thanks for the advice.

if the mame has something written after it (like "mame1.exe") type that in.
