please run a step by step guide to reformat my Hardrive and reinstall Windows xp home.
I know this has probably been asked before, but I don't have much time, and I need a response so that I can get to it. Once I start I won't be able to come back on line and thus I need a complete guide that goes into very simple detail as I am very new to computers and this is my first time at doing this kind of thing.
I have the xp cd, what else do I need?
Thank you

1. At first back-up all the stuff ya want to keep and remember all programs ya want to install when ya reinstalled XP.
2. Then restart Computer with XP-cd.... be sure ya have set CD-ROM at first boot.
(How to set your CD-ROM at first boot: restart computer at the first screen ya see (POST Screen) press "Del" or "F1"... now your in the BIOS go to "Advanced BIOS Features" than go to "Boot Sequense" and now set as "First Boot: CD-ROM"
Press "Esc" twies, go to "save settings and restart computer")
When ya have done this the computer should start-up from CD-ROM.
3. When setup has been innitialised ya get a text bassed menu.
4. In this menu ya can delete the partitions by pressing "D".
5. When ya did this create a new partition by pressing "C". Now ya can enter the sice of the partition ya want to make.
6. When ya did this Perform a frest install of WIN-XP by pressing "Enter".
7. Now ya get a screen where ya have to accept the licens by pressing "F8".
8. Press "enter" to install windows on the partition ya have made.
9. Now it askes to format the Partition "NTFS" or "FAT" move cursor to "Format partition with NTFS" and press "enter". Now its gonna format that partition and when its ready with that it copies setup files to yar harddrive. When its done with this setup restarts yar computer.
10. Now setup start from Harddisk. Follow all of the text bassed menu's by pressing "next".
When installing Windows-XP ya have to enter a "username" and a "computername" There allso will come some other setup settings like: "Regional settings" here ya can enter "input locales", currency ect...
11. when ya did this setup goes further... after +\- 25 minutes windows is installed
12. When Setup is almost ended it askes for the network settings "Typical" or "Manual" choose "Typical" this installs all the nessacery networking components like: TCP/IP, Client for microsoft networks and File and Printer Sharing.
13. Now it starts-up yar computer again and ya can begin with install your programs.
Goodluck with it m8
(BTW... I haven't wrote every step of the installation wizzard becouse i don't know all of them but i know if ya follow these steps ya can install Windows-XP, and be sure to read everything clearly in setup wizzard.)
