Im pulling my hair out, I have video files that I get the message auidio format tag 75 codec is required to run the file.

Ive found message boards saying use mplayer2 to download codec or lower all security settings and privacy settings to the lowest to autamaticlly download the codec, the files work with this old media player but I want to use media player 9, with media player 9 it says downloading codec and goes through to 100% then says it cannot find the codec, Ive done the update media player 9 and it up to date.

Ive run out of ideas!

please tell me where to download this dam codec for media player 9.

thanks

I cant use media player 10 because its not compatible with windows 98 se.
Ive also downloaded the latest divx codecs.

there must be a place to download the codec.

I downloaded the 75 audio codec from here:
http://www.keystonelearning.com/company/support/files/Codec/codecpatch1.0.zip

I was trying to get the KeystoneLearning CDs to work on winxp sp2 and found this post. MPlayer2 and Media Player 9 are both working now (I also lowered IE security and privacy settings described in this post).

thanks all!
