Alright, I bought the Sims University and had the unfortunate accident of my dog getting her little paws on CD 1, which is needed to play. -.- I have looked through this thread, but cannot find what I need. My problem is I cannot have deamon tools on this computer in order to run a iso or mini-image. I need a non deamon tools method of getting my game to run. If anyone can help me, I'm very thankful.

1) Download the crack (12.7MB) and the images (155KB)
2) Download Daemon Tools 3.47
3) When D-Tools are installed, right-click on the red-lighting icon and
4) Goto Virtual CD/DVD-ROM --> Set number of devices --> 1
5) Goto Virtual CD/DVD-ROM --> Device 0: [x] --> Mount image
6) Choose the MDS file and close the window that it will open
7) Finally, apply the crack in the dir Sims 2\TSBin\ and replace the files.

I've been looking all over for the No-DVD crack for the The Sims 2 U.S. version, not the University one. So far I've been using the crack that doesn't let me save, nor lets me do anything in Build Mode. This thread has been driving me insane, different non-working cracks here and there for other versions of The Sims. Can someone help skipper and me here? :beigeconf :graysigh:

I've about given up on this folks. I've tried my best to get this game working with NO CD and it doesnt seem to work. I've tried every single crack there is, even created a FULL image of my safedisc cd. I have the DVD version of Sims 2, worked fine on my laptop and desktop for that matter. Uninstalled Sims 2 from desktop but still used the game on my laptop. I reinstalled sims 2 on my desktop, installed University... but I can't get the damn thing to work with no CD. I dont use Daemon tools... I use alcohol 120% but it still asks me for disc.

Is there a solution for me or should I stick with using the CD?

Please don't ask if this is an illegal version. I have the full DVD and CD.

Guys, i have a porblem. I recently got TS2:University. Well, in the end of the install he tries to update and before that askes for the fourth disk of the sims 2, right ? well, i have the sims 2 DVD multilanguage and when i insert it, it still askes for the fourth disk of the sims 2. Any ideas what to do or how to bypass the update ? tanks :blacrazz

For all you people saying Alcohol can't run the game... maybe you should try again.

On two different PC's, both with Alcohol 1.9.2 and custom installs giving the SCSI devices different names to the defaults, Sims2 runs fine from Alcohol!
I.e. in device manager, go to SCSI and RAID controllers. See what name your Alcohol device has got. I called mine ALCOSOF2. (The other device is called ALCOSOF1 but I don't think thats listed in Device manager)

I believe you will need to uninstall, reset, and install Alcohol again, but choose advanced/custom install to choose your own device names.
Hope they helps you all... else I have no idea why it runs fine on Alcohol on mine :)

2 days? wth was i talking about... anyway, i made use of alcohol instead since i have its latest version installed here already and yeah, everything works. but the game crashes after about 10 minutes. i think this started happening after i installed a new graphic card (geforce4 5200). now that's off-topic yeah but if anyone would like to help me or direct me to another thread or discussion board which can be of help to my problem, i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks!

Actually yes. There is one program... It is called "GamesXcopy" but it's preety difficult to find it on a website. Try looking on p2p programs and be careful of the viruses! :asmd:

The only crack I have that works requires Daemon Tools where you mount an emulator and use mini images of the game. This was available from GameCopyWorld along with instructions on how to do it. http://www.gamefileforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177 has a guide to help from scratch.

its because your using a patch init try puttin the original sims2.exe back then install the expansions

then your gonna only need a patch for the last expansion installed if that dont makke sense pm me ill go into more detail for ya:flash:

When it was about to finish installing nightlife(100%) it said that that it will need my sims2 disk4 so that it will be updated so i put the disk into my drive then i clicked OK but the window keeps on popping over and over again so i cant proceed and i have no choice but to terminate it..its like it dosent recognize my disk but i succesfully installed thesims2 yesterday.PLEASE HELP!!!!

I think when a answer is finally founded it should be posted/edited in the first post with link. The Sims 2 needs a mini-image; a NO-CD .exe crack will corrupt textures, game saves, and will generally crash.

I have installed Sims2, have the original sims2.exe file, no crack installed. No ALcohol120 or CloneCD ever installed on pc. Latest DirectX 9.0c installed, and Daemon installed.

I have the Sims21_mini.mds that is supposed to work, but when I mount the mini image with Daemon, the Sims2 splash screen loads, then after a few seconds, an Exception log.txt is written : (

Any idea what I need to do to get this to play?

Can anyone interpret the log?

Hi Guys

I've found A way to make the Multilanguage Versions working fully with the [NO-DVD] Crack from Money.

I Was Having the Same problems that you guys have when I decided to go search how the Conversion from CD to DVD was made and that was when I found out that Money really forgot to do something in their Crack (but what the hell, nobody's perfect) so the problem was that Money Forgot to remove the Check from the 00000001.TMP and 00000002.TMP files wich have diferent file sizes in the US version and in the International one. So what I did was to modify some stuff from the CD2DVD conversion method and I found out this method that works.

First of All make sure you make a Copy of your main ISO or Folder so that if you have any trouble you'll always have a backup.

Now read the following steps carefully and then take action, if you're an experienced user you can change some of the steps but try to be carefull so you don't blow up anything :p


1º Extract the content from you're ISO or you're MDS/MDF files or where ever you have the game in to a Folder named SIMS_DVD.

2º If you have any Folder Named Crack in the extracted files erase the content inside that /Crack dir, if not create one.

3º See if you can get some Keygen or serial to the game and either put it in the /Crack dir or save the serial where ever you want.

4º Now download the MDF/MDS Mini-Images from iND located on GameCopyWorld.

5º Open the Mini-Images with Daemon Tools or Ultra ISO or some other similar software, and copy the files named 00000001.TMP and 00000002.TMP to the Main SIMS_DVD directory, Make sure to Overwrite the initial files when prompted :) (This is the Crucial Step so the game can work).

6º Go to the TSBin Dir located Inside SIMS_DVD and change the name from the Sims2.exe file to Sims2.exe.bak

7º Download the [NO-DVD] Crack from Money located at GamCopyWorld and extract Sims2.exe to the TSBin Dir.

8º If you want, just for Safety mesures you can save the Original Sims.exe and the Cracked Sims2.exe in the /Crack Dir (THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL).

9º Finaly Use NERO or some other similar Software to create an ISO or to burn directly to DVD the files with a Label named Sims2_1 (Warning the Label is Case Sensitive so be carefull not to write SIMS2_1).

Now you'll only need to install the game and play it with the DVD inside the player (either that or you'll have to wait for another [NO-DVD] Crack).

I Did this steps and I was able to play the game with no Contruction or Saving errors.

With this Step-by-Step Tutorial you wont need any Mini-Images every time you play, just the new DVD Inside the player each time you play.


If you have any trouble, don't ask cause I did this and it worked so its probably you're fault or some version error, Still I hope you can play the game correctly cause I did.

Use this Tut at you're own Risk and don't blame others for what you did.


NOTE: This Method was modified from the CD2DVD conversion Method found on Fileforums (Just to keep the original credits ;P ).

If you change some of the steps and release another method please keep the credits as I did :), its not that hard

the crack is the 12.7 Mb one and i just started using it. I can build, save, neighbourhood looks ok, textures and all. Didnt get to play a lot but its running right now with no crashes. You dont need to mount any image, just overwrite the exe with the crack and voilla

Listen, first of all, I don't support piracy either, second of all, as I said in both of my posts this method is only used in the DVD method, third of all that NO-CD Crack is not the NO-DVD Crack I specifically mensioned in also both of my posts, both of these cracks are made by Money, but are a bit diferent one from the other.

As I said I'm waiting for someone who tested this method and as some brains to change it to a CD method, also this method as said before is not for pirated versions, its for Backup use only.

With that purchase, you get your own unique/valid CD-key (if one is required) and customer support so that if you experience a problem it'll be solved. What you people who download games don't understand is that the reason there are video games is because they know people will be entertained and they can make money off of it. If everyone just downloaded the game illegally, the software production companies will stop making games and then there will be no games to entertain us. Not only are you screwing the software companies out of money, you are ultimately hurting the people who legally purchase software as the price rises for all the people stealing and if the game production gets halted. Though at times, it can be fun, coding is hard work and it's really rotten that you're ripping off the people that spend countless hours creating a game.

They cost a buck or two for only one reason. Most likely they are pirated. In Russia it's around 10 bucks an old game. A very old game you can buy in germany with 1-2 euro. But Sims Deluxe, it still sells with 20-30 euros. So, without a shadow o doubt, i'd say that you were duped.Or you knew that and took the risk of buying a pirated product. I bought the sims deluxe recentely(a big fan of the first sims series) and it costed me around 25 euro. And some small change:D

are you positive? because i've seen a few websites offering the sims 2 no-cd patch, and even some people on this forum. some actually had the patch sent to them and posted here that it worked fine. the ones on websites i've seen don't work though.

Pretty sure. The only thing that works is the TNT mini-image. Anything else, nope. The TNT mini-images worked well, while most of the other where dependable of your system configuration. When a no-cd comes out I can put my dvds back in the box:). Until then I prefer to play with the Nightlife in the dvd drive. Not much of a hustle, and it always works.
And one more thing. The patch 1.1 will verify the integrity of the sims 2 protection and ask for the original disc. That means the fact that you need the original sims 2 cds(dvd) for installing the patches and installing the addons. So you will need your original cd/dvd inserted every time you update or install an addon.

And use the damn edit button, friggin kid. And like Ammargeddemon said, try the three major crack sites. As for links, I know for sure they do work because I downloaded recently the mini-images. As for the vaunted crack, most of the times it doesn;t work properly(crashes in the game and so on). And what's wrong with using your original cd? Put the disc in the drive and run a program called A-Ray Scanner. That'll tell you the protection type.

So I finaly had time to do the CD version Method for you guys to play the game without mini-images, only by inserting the CD in the drive each time you wan't to play.

Remember I'm Portuguese, so please be carefull for "bugs" in my text.

1º - Exctract the contents of CD 1 or Image 1 to a Directory named CD 1;

2º - Download the "iND" mini-images from GameCopyWorld;

3º - Open those mini-images with the apropriate software, such as Daemon tools or Ultra ISO;

4º - copy the files named 00000001.TMP and 00000002.TMP from the mini-images to the main /CD 1 Directory (Replace the older files);

5º - Download the [NO-DVD] crack from Money also located at GameCopyWorld;

6º - Copy Sims2.exe from the crack Dir (.RAR) to the TSBin Dir and replace the old one;

7º - Create a /Crack Directory on the main /CD 1 Dir, and paste there any working keygen you might find, I recommend the one from "iSODOX".

8º - Now this is the tricky part, Create an ISO/Burn all the content from /CD 1 Dir to a CD with the Label "Sims2_1" (be carefull not to write "SIMS2_1" cause the Label is Case Sensitive).

9º - Now that you have either a CD or an ISO, you can play with the CD inside the drive or the ISO mounted, no need for other Cracks, just install and play.


NOTE: This method I did not tested cause I didn't have the CD versions, but try it and send me some feedback, it will probably work cause the method is similar to the DVD version, but i'm not sure.


NOTE 2: If you have any problems I'm not sure I can help you, but if I can, I'll probably try.

NOTE 3: Use the rest of you're other CD's to install the game, and only this one instead of the first one.



I hope I could help, sorry for the time I took to create the other method, but I was waiting for another smart guy to make it for me, unfortunatly that didn't happened.


This method was based on the FileForums CD2DVD conversions of Sims2, this CD version is more technical than the other one, still I think it's clear enough for all.

There is a Small Possibility but you'll have to crack it after you installed it again, and even that way it may not work, I haven't tested it yet.

I know about all the problems with versions and so, but what I wanted to do was to help someone who could be helped. What I mean is that the one's who have versions that work and still want the Crack instead of the mini-images, have this method, still like everything in this world this is only for those who want, and until there's a perfect crack for each version and expansion you can either use this method or use the mini-images, wich are recommended, but even mini-images have some trouble in some systems, like me for example, it crashes my windows when I use D-Tools or any similar software.

So like I said, you chose the best and apropriated methof for you're-self, I'm just giving another solution...

PS: the construction and the saving error worked for me :).

I have to admit, i didnt take the efford to read every page, since there are like 54 alraidy so excuse me if i ask something that is alraidy asked or solved, i have the feeling it isnt cause i just need a ''no cd image'', or ''crack'' for Open for Business (the new sims2 addon) i have googled my ass off to find something, and I havent found anything about The sims 2: Open for business. What speed processor? I believe the P4 came out about 6-7 years ago at 1.5GHz ... I would most likely guess that it's the "Intel Graphic Media Accelerator" (if that takes the place of a normal GPU). If you don't have an external (not embedded into the motherboard) GPU, I would seriously consider getting one. You don't necessarily need anything that's $500, but spending $150 wouldn't be a bad investment, especially if you want the computer for gaming ...

Looks like the problem here is that it uses SafeDisc 4.6, which effectively flags all SCSI CD/DVD-ROM drives (and therefore emulated drives) as not being valid sources for the media if ANY IDE CD/DVD-ROM drives are found.

DT coders are apparently working on a virtual IDE drive to resolve this but it may take a while.

A suggested solution is disabling all IDE CD/DVD-ROM drives or unplugging all IDE drives with PC off and restarting.

Hiding the IDE CD/DVD-ROM drives with a loader like CureROM or StarForceKiller has been suggested and effectively used to get around SafeDisc 4.X.X in the past, I don't know if that will help here?

I know this doesn't help the quest for a working NO CD much but every little bit helps, doesn't it?

3) Configure CureROM, just follow the instruction it aint to bad...
and play by clickin on the icon on your desktop

I'm playing without the cd. I have two files, mdf and mds on my disc-the latter is mounted with d-tools 3.47. It works. But I'd still prefer to have a mini-image!

Here's what worked for me, and I have been playing the game cd-free for a couple hours now with no problem...if you follow my directions properly, there is no reason it wont work for you as well.

1. Get the Game Jackal Program(the free download)
2. Get the safe disc 4 hider Program
3. Follow the directions in the Game Jackal program to create a profile for the .exe file of the Open for Business game. While creating the profile, if you are using a mdf or mds file, direct the game jackal program to the disk location that you mount your images on, then when it says to put the cd in, mount the image at that time. Do not activate the profile yet, but leave the game jackal program open.
4. Start safe disc 4 hider program
5. Click hide on the safe disc 4 hider program
6. Activate the profile with the Game Jackal Program
7. The game should play now

Configuring Curerom 1.31 is where im havin problems i think....could u jus break it down for me?? I finally got it up and running

I didn't bother with cureROM or game jackal, all i used was daemon tools 4 and sd4hide. The reason people are goin wrong is the same way I went wrong...the mini images don't work...instead mount the FULL image of the open for business...now run sd4hide click on hide...then double click on sims 2 open for business and it'll run...

First of all, i am also like you that i really am so pissed off by not having the image file work on my SIMS 2 (The SIMS 2, University, and the Nightlife) game. Luckily, due to my persistency in figuring out the whole thing, i came up to the idea of installing the different versions (I mean the expansion pack) in several folders. This is how it looks like.

1.) c:\The SIMS 2
2.) c:\The SIMS 2 \The SIMS 2
3.) Then i make another for the University expansion pack:
c:\The SIMS 2 \The SIMS 2 - University
4.) And another for the Nightlife expansion pack:
c:\The SIMS 2 \The SIMS 2 - Nightlife

5.) After installing all the game (including the expansion packs) I downloaded the image file (the .mdf and the .mds files) from Game Burn World (http://www.gameburnworld.com/gp/gamefixes/sims2nightlife.shtml). You just need the Nightlife image files coz the game reads the latest expansion pack anyway. (I tried installing and mounting all the image files but still i get the "Not the right version...") If you have the latest version (Business...) of the expansion pack, just get the latest image files.

6.) Copy the .exe file found on the TSBin folder. to the c:\The SIMS 2

7.) Install the Daemon Tool (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5). (Follow this link. Don't worry this is a freeware)
8.) Right click the Daemon Tool icon found on your system tray.
9.) Point on the Virtual CD/DVD ROM.
10.) Set the number of drives to: 1 drive.
11.) At the Device 0: [E:] choose the Mount image.
12.) Locate the folder where you installed the Image Files.

13.) After this, you're set to go. Enjoy!!!

The issue where the builder of something that doesn't work, i haven't encountered it yet. But will post it here when i found one. Also, don't forget to install the update patches. Don't worry, it won't interfere with the Daemon Tools. I treid it already.

Regarding the crash issue, i think this happens when you installed all the SIMS 2 game (including the expansion packs) in one folder. I also got screwed here.

You can actually do a good copy with the latest alcohol, if you own the original Sims2. Anyway, remeber to keep around the DVD or the CD from original Sims2. When updating, you might needed for some file check. If you own all the expansions, don't forget to backup the files that you are gonna replace, open for business and family fun bringing the no-cd crack. Many people are forgeting to backup the files that they are going to replace and they end up reinstalling all the Sims2(which can be quite bothersome, as being a bit time consuming).

I agree to wolfsrain comment above in backing up your original .exe files in case you update your copy of The SIMS 2. Coz man, the software will auto UN-install once it detects alteration to the .exe file during the update and you'll be going through a lot of re-installation stuff. I for instance got the SIMS 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business installed only to re-install it again when i used the .exe patch i got from GameCopyWorld and STUPIDLY forgot to back-up my original .exe file when i install the update patch.

Few points i wanna share with you guys is that the following experience i acquired during the installation process (Hey, it was a pain in the ass):

1.) The SIMS 2 has a NO CD/DVD .exe crack. Meaning, you don't have to use the damn DAEMON Tool to get the ball rolling. BUT be careful coz once you update your original copy with the update patch provided by EA games, it will auto UN-install once it sense any alteration to the .exe file. My advice, Update your SIMS 2 copy, then over-write the existing .exe file to the NO CD/DVD .exe crack.
2.) The SIMS 2 - UNIVERSITY only got the Image files (.mds and .mdf) to fix the game. Quite a hassle though but sure is safe once you accidentally update the .exe file found on EA Games website.
3.) The SIMS 2 - NIGHT LIFE. Man, this is the pits. I was stuck here for three (3) facking' days figuring out how to get the game running. Considering the lousy instructions they had on the net.
4.) The SIMS 2 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS. Simplier than i thought coz all the damn hassles i encountered led me to find a NO CD/DVD patch.

All this painstaking Job, i tell you, was worth it. I got the game running as smooth as the wind. Keep in mind that INSTALL ALL SIMS 2 GAMES AT DIFFRENT FOLDERS IN ONE MAIN DIRECTORY (See my previous posting). I got several un-explained crashes without explanation only to be enlightened by my sleepless night efforts. Don't listen to other website garbage posting. They only mislead you people.

If you want accurate and unbiased solution, bookmark this site. MEGAGAMES is the best source of info. Good luck.

hey guys, thought u should kno, there really arent any fully working no-cd cracks, most of them disable building mode too! but, download and install the latest version of Daemon Tools, go to game copy world or somewhere else, and download the Sims2 CD Image. just mount the image in Daemon on a virtual drive, and wa-la! everything works perfect, and the image is only like a 100kb! this is wat i do, so be assured that it works, and if any1 needs i can upload the image and post a link to it!

To install the game you must legally obtain it on disc in the case of the sims or if it where half life 2 it would be via their steam downloads...

Ok, I tried the no-cd patch that everyone else has tried and again, I can't build anything. So, I installed Daemon and got the image mounted but I forgot to back-up my original exe for the game. Do I have to uninstal then re-instal the game so that it will work corectly with Daemon?

Where did you get the .iso from?
What did you install the game from, downloaded .iso or original CD?
Where did you get the game from?

NVM.. i found out the reason. its cause my dell inspiron 9300 is not fast enough.. which i think is total bull.. although it works on my dads dimension 4600 which is around 2-3 years older than my laptop.. I think the system things are dumb.. I have intel mobile processor a 1.6ghz, but the game needs a 2.0ghz? WOW.. pretty dumb.. I dont really think Sims 2 needs that.. i also have a Gforce 6800 go and thought it was "TL" or what not but i guess its still not enough to surpass the 2.ghz need.. SO i think Sims 2 is kinda dumb..

If it's going to require the most up-to-date patch, a DT/mini-image combination will be your best bet, as you will be able to use the same mini-image unless the copy protection is updated with the latest update patch - if you go with a fixed .exe method, you'll have to wait until a new crack is released each time you upgrade ...

Also, another option would be to contact EA games and have them send you a replacement disc (which will be no problem being you own the game) ;)

None available for the latest patch. Most likely it will be a complete edition which will be fully updated(see what happened with the first Sims series; they released Sims: Complete Collection). As the Sims2 received the last and final expansion, the complete Sims2 edition will be out in the late autumn or at Christmas.
No other expansions are planned, as the next year should bring Sims3.

Is there a NOCD patch for the Vista version? I installed it on my laptop (Vista) and it required an update to make it Vista Compatible, but I couldn't find a patch for that version.

Well, there is no such. Most likely you will have to wait for a full collection to come out(remember that all the original Sims came out in the Sims: Complete Collection). The last addon it's scheduled for september(Bon Voyage). After that one, supposedly, EA will focus on Sims3 and they might just release the Sims2 with all the addons and Vista compatibility. But I wouldn't put my money on it.
A small question: did you try running the game with administrator rights and XP compatibility mode?

Yeah, you stole a game and it doesn't work.

Contact EA Support and explain them that your illegal copy of the game doesn't work, and see what they say.

I've mounted the ripped image with dtools, I've enabled all the emulations but I still get the dreaded "insert the correct disc" screen! Then I check dtools again and the image isn't mounted any more. Am I using the wrong image or what?

It's only legal to use a no-cd fix if you're still in possession of the game.

Contact EA and request a replacement disc.

Yesterday I installed Sims 2 from my sister's DVD version of the game. She doesn't want me using the disc for it and I told her that was all right – I could find a no-disc patch for it.

Unfortunately, I can't get any bloody working ones. I have the money crack, but that still prompts me for the CD when I load it up, and I've tried the mini-image with the correct version of DAEMON Tools.

I'm wondering if it's because I've installed using the DVD version, and if there is a working crack aside from the money version.

Any help is appreciated, and apologies if I'm out of line bumping this.

i've got sims 2 on 4 discs and i used a crack on my new vista laptop (because i hate putting the disc in every time) and didn't work. i installed on my old xp pc and it worked but the build tool wasn't working. to fix the build tool i downloaded the money crack which worked. will the money crack fix the problem with my laptop?

From what I understand, you have Vista on your laptop. You should be logged in administrator mode and set the compatibility mode to XP. Then, you should have no problem...

The original Sims 2 never got a proper crack ony mini images. While several of it's expansions had it

While if you look at torrents the original Sim2 for Mac got a proper crack.

The ironic thing here is that mac games generally don't get proper crack as pc ones but in this case was completely the contrary

Everytime you launch the game the image always to be mounted to get the game to work . Coz mini images actually don't crack the game just make believe the copyprotection the disk is inserted

The noobs you refers must be from 2004 when this thread was started. obviosly when the game was launched that year cracks or methods to bypass the protection could not be effective at the beginning. Alcohol has updated it's version like 1 millon of times after this thread was created and maybe why now works. A>nd original Sims + the 1 millons of expanions now has + updates can be some differences now
