messiah on winxp pro

hi,
im havin trouble playing the game messiah on windows xp pro. it will not load up and when i attempt 2 again, it asks me if i want to load up in safe mode. After hitting yes, it works, but i get no sound whatsoever. what can i do???? i'd really appreciate your help

there some things you shoud do If you haven't do yet:

update drectx
update drivers of video card and sound card
uninstall and reinstall the game
check if there is some patch for the game
