I just bought Winning Eleven International 7 (soccer game), and I'm having some big problems with my Logitech dual-action gamepads.

I've had a few problems using the gamepads with other games like Madden and MVP Baseball, but they haven't been this bad. The USB connection for the pads sometimes seems to just go out like a light, and I lose all control over the game. Then I have to reboot the computer to make it work again.

But it's much worse with Winning Eleven. The buttons aren't assigned to the actions that the manual says they should be assigned to; when I try to fix them, I have lots of problems--it keeps getting buggy, or the USB connection seems to go out, and then I have to reboot.

My questions:

1. Do you think that it is this particular game that is buggy? After searching the web, I found a few mentions here or there about difficulties with controllers.

2. Is the bigger problem with my gamepads? Are the Logitech gamepads usually this buggy? Is it possible I just have a few bad ones? Does anyone have any suggestions for other ones?

3. Why/How would a game make the USB gamepads inoperable?

Here is my system info (I built it about 4 or 5 months ago):

--Asus P4P800-E Deluxe 865PE Motherboard
--NVidia GeForce FX5700 Graphics Card (Gigabyte; 128 MB DDR, AGP8x, DVI, Direct X 9.X)
--Intel P4 2.4 GHz Processor
--2 x 256MB DDR (Kingston)
--Win XP

thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. this is not an "emergency," but I couldn't find a better place to ask this question on the forum list. If i should put it elsewhere, please let me know.

just wanted to follow up and say that i solved the problem with this specific game (I was able to assign actions to the right buttons).

but i'd still be interested in hearing about what people out there think of the logitech gamepads...
