C&C: Generals Zero Hour

Hey, sorry to resurrect a (now) old game, but I've always had a problem getting Zero Hour to work.
I've tried loads of no cd cracks for v1.0 but none work, they always result in a weird problem that no one else seems to have; it says:

"Your computer needs to be restarted in order to continue the patch. Press OK to continue"

The only option is to press ok and restart. It's getting very annoying now!!

btw this happens EVERY time, so it restarts every time i try to run the game.

Is that a original version of the game you're running, or a copy? Also, if you're trying to patch a cracked exe file, you will need to recopy the original exe file before patching.

Zero Hour is a d/l copy, however, in the last hour I tried running CnC Generals (original, not ZH), which is a legit copy, and worst of all not even cracked, and it did the same!! wtf? 1) Its an official copy, 2) I'm using the original exe, not a cracked one! I've tried without latest patch, and then with, either way it still keeps happening.

When I first installed both games, over a year ago, it did this. I tried ripping both out, and installing them again from scratch and it worked. Ive tried numerous times since and no luck.

Any suggestions?

Finally figured out what it was! I had a folder called "Patches" in the route directory, turns out that Generals sees that folder and thinks it needs to patch the game! So I renamed it and it works perfectly. :D
