Well, I finally got it working.
Some of you may remember a LONG time ago when I bought the Xbox live service and it just wouldn't work because when i wired the house for networking our cables were way too secure and were not compatable with Xbox Live's service.
Well I have now fixed that by buying an ethernet bridge.
I bought a WET11 Ethernet Bridge from Linksys and I am running it wirelessly to a DLink wireless router.
All I did was check out my configuration for the wireless router and match it to my bridge through the included install program, and I was all set. I set my DNS servers to their primary and secondary, entered my cable modem's MAC address, and set my IP configuration to automatic. After that, it was smoothe sailing.
Let me tell you, I love this Xbox Live service so far. My brother got Crimson Skies and it's a blast playing against 12 other fools through the headset online against eachother.
I really think that this service could go far and I advise everybody with an Xbox to get it if they haven't already.
I know, I know, this is old news, but I thought that it would be good to say because I am sure some people remember my troubles with Microsoft's poor support for high end cabling and equipment.
Bottom line: I am a PC gamer at heart and I really don't like console games that much, but I love this new Xbox Live service and I think it can really bring a lot of good things to the console market, which currently, in my opinion, suffers from lack of innovative technology and only has a few good games per platform.
