If I backup one of my PS2 games to a DVD-RW will the DVD-RW damage my PS2s lazer I know that a good brand DVD-R wont damage the lazer but will a DVD-RW damage the lazer. :newbie:

You have the Legal right to make a backup of your games, the only way to play a backup on your PS2 is to get it chipped (which is now illegal in the UK) or get the flip lid mod for your PS2 and get the swap magic discs for it.. dont know the legal wranglings for that tho...

It's all illegal now, even the HDLoader :( every known UK site has stopped selling anything related to circumventing "the built-in protection of the PS2 and allowed the console to play pirate and imported games."

Off course they can read it. If you've never tried it, you never know. That's how people check with a Disk ID if it's a correct ID to get past the DNA$ servers online.
my ps2 pal v5 plays dvd-rw's better than dvd-r's, not skipping in gta:vc or prince of persia.
