Running dvd images on pc

Is there a software I can copy a dvd on my pc and then run it on my pc. How can I make a dvd image(playable on my pc) and then record it on a dvd as a backup.

Hey chucky pancamo! out of prison?

I like have an ATI All in Wonder 9800 Pro and I love it. There are better cards with faster speeds but if you're looking for extra functions like video in and out, All in Wonders are great.
