gothic 2 + addon

I have a problem with gothic 2. I can`t install the german addon over the us version. I read in many places what I must do: install the german 1.30 patch executable only, and after that, the addon. The installer starts, the cd is ok, but when it`s about to copy files it says, in german, to insert original addon cd. what am I doing wrong?

...another question: can the addon be installed over the ripped version of the game?
