Whats the difference between CloneCD and ClonyXL?

I have both CloneCD and ClonyXL on my computer. I use CloneCD a lot for backup cds, but I never used ClonyXL. I wonder what ClonyXL is used for?

ClonyXL is only used to determine the type of Disk protection being used, and to set up CloneCD with the required settings to successfully backup the Disk ;)

The problem with clony is that now is outdated (don't detect new protections) and newer versions of clonecd no longer works with clonny
