to play vcds on a dc, you need either the VCD boot disk (download and burn it, use it like the utopia boot disk) or version 2 of the Gypplay vcd player, which involves file swapping and burning a disk with the Gypplay files added, No extra hardware/chip is needed.
As yet there is no satisfactory way to play SVCDs

Nope, it is actually an illegal crack of a commercial disk so you are on your own on this one, sorry.

I Have a copy of the vcd boot disc for the dreamcast be warned the picture is very block like and you can not fast forward or rewind so you have to watch all the way through I had it given me so dont know wher you can get one from you would be better off with a dvd/vcd player why not play your vcds on your PC?
