View Full Version : Gamecube was going to be called something else!
Wasn't the gamecube going to be called Nintendo Dolphin? I read that off of websites ever since Nintendo 64 came out. Everywhere, it stated "Nintendo Dolphin used dolphin technology", but I never saw the Dolphin. My brother, an avid fan of nintendo (yes i hate him dont wory) said it was going to be called Gamecube some years later, and when I argued it was going to be called Dolphin, he turned out to be right. Why did I see on so many websites that Nintendo's next generation console was going to be called Nintendo Dolphin?

Dolphin was just the code name for Gamecube. Don't know why, I guess they just felt that the name Gamecube gave away too much about their system...
oh really? lol... many places said that it would run off of Dolphin technology as well... it said seomthing about two companies merging or somethin...

It's the same with the Sega Katana project.
You know the Katana better as the Dreamcast.
