Can backups work online on chipped PS2?

I know that it is possible to play backups online with the swapmagic bootdiscs
by patching them with WinDIP but is it possible for them to work online with a chipped PS2?

Yes it is possible to do with them both. swap magic and modchip. As for original games you need to turn the chip off to play online games. But for backups it's patched this way that the DNA$ server doesn't detect the modchip and you get to play them online. As for your other question how to turn the messiah 2 off is just pressing the eject button till the light turns blue, when you start up your PS2 i think. hey sup was curious since i have heard u can play backups online without dnas detecting it being a backup and did wanted to know how can you do that? do i have to do a certain something with the original that i have to grab so i can put on the copied one? so if u can help a brotha out thanks. :doggy:

You need to download the Disk ID Utility (http://www.mgforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1743) extract it and burn with either Alcohol 120%, Nero or CDRWin. If you're using swap magic disks you need the DVD version. I bet you can play them online becuase with the swap magic disks it boots your backup game so it should work. i dont know i havent tried swap magic

Costs nothing to go online. You just need a ps2 network adaptor and the internet connection cable and you're set.
