Long time no see eh? CS/CZ brightness problem >: (

Alrighty,
first off its been a while since ive been on here and im back lol. But to the issue, I have a Radeon 9700 Pro and have just installed the newest catalyst drivers. I updated the drivers because they would not change the brightness ingame, only on the desktop. When i got the drivers I turned my brightness up (settings/advanced/color) so I would actully be able to see in CS/CZ or any other Hl mod. It worked and i was glad, for about 25 minutes until i installed some new software. Then i restarted and played some CZ only to find that it was dark again! So, i thought well i probably just have to load the brightness profile. So i load it up start CZ up again and whaddya know, its still dark as hell. I have a VERY dark monitor which is a big let down, but the main thing is I cant adjust the drivers to brighten full screen 3D! It works fine on desktop and everything is great, but for full screen changing the brightness makes no difference. Please help, this is crippling me ingame :(

I would un-install the Cat drivers, I use the Cat 4.4 and thet are great, I have no trouble what so ever with them and my 9800Pro ;)

So, i installed the same driver/control panel/etc package you have and it worked! I love you :love: So, now there was a matter of running games. So i just uninstalled the drivers (not control panel) and reinstalled the new ones because i was getting about 25 fps in farcry. So now im back up to par with Farcry and its running fine again. So i guess it was the control panels fault? guess 4.4 is better then 4.6. So, yup CS and CZ both are brighter and more deliciously fun. THX for the help!
