Hey dudes,
I have both computers running Windows XP, i have all the CAT5 cabling already connected but i dont know how to setup the software side of the network.
Can someone go through a step-by-step process with me or alternativly give me a website that has such a process.
Thanks!! :1drink:

So is the patch cable connected directly to the other computer, or are you using a router (or hub)?
If you are doing a direct connection from one PC to another, you need to have a cross-over cable, and not a regular RJ45 cable.
If both systmes are runnig XP, it's very easy to setup. You could even use XP' networking wizard. (Desktop-->My Network Places-->Add a network place)
If you plan on sharing an internet connection between the computers, your best bet is to use a router, it'll save you trouble & time in the long run.
