I think I messed up my computer tell me what you think.

Ok my new system specs are in my sig.

Everything was fine until I had this great idea to install the bundled software. The program is call ProMagic 6.0 it is susposed to allow you to restore you system and such.

After the install I rebooted. A screen came up and listed my harddrive, it had an ok and cancel button and said promagic up top. I push ok. The system rebooted. It would get past the post to the second screen where it listed my raid array, it would stay at this screen for a few seconds then restart and start over again. I tried unpluging and everything same.

I got out and out windows 98 start up disk to see if I could somehow delete the Promagic folder through dos. I entered it with cdrom support. I typed cd c: and to my surprise the c drive was the my dvdrom and d: was my cdrw. There was no letter for my harddrive after testing them all. Did the program erase the letter c from my harddrive or something?

After not having anymore ideas I unpluged and reset my cmos through the jumper. After the reset, I turned it on. The fans started up my hd lights flashed as well as my cdroms. But I did not hear a beep and the screen stayed black. I tried reseting the cmos again this time I got as far the the beginning of the post screen and I heard a beep but the words the said how much memory I had were scribly and it froze again. I restart and it was just like the first time. no beep and no video.

I tried unpluging my sata hardrives and trying different memory but nothing works it still freezes.

Please help! Did I fry my board while reseting the cmos? what about my harddrives?

with the drive letter its cause its a ram drive
the ram is now the a drive the flop is now the b drive an so on

make sure all hard ware is tight and hooked right
go into the bios and set to default
if all else fails
try flashing bios i would down load it to a cd rom(or flop) just make sure boot option is set right

I don't see how I can flash anything if my computer won't even post.

update: I just boot up the system for 15 secs in the bios then it froze. Whould a board that took damage while resetting cmos boot into bios? To me it sounds like a heating issue but I ran the system for 5 days without any problems.

Update again.
I fixed the second problem by taking everything apart and putting it back together. But I still have the first one where it will display my riad array. Realtek to be exact then reboot.

Please help! Thanks

the reason u did not see your hdd in DOS. DOS does not support NTFS. i would insert your windows XP disk and see if you can repair it from there. fix mbr might do the trick
