if it aint broke dont fix it TRUE
if its working ok your games work etc etc then keep your drivers as they are
and yes u do have to unistall the old drivers but some bits do get left behind if you do not know what you r doin this is where u get driver conflicts
hope it helps

It's often best to have the latest drivers. It's always some fixes to improve.
Try and if it get's worse then just revert back to previous version.

in my opinion its best to remove drivers from control panel add remove nvidia
43.45 are the fastest geforce 3/4 Ti.. but this is mostly because they have brilinear filtering on the "quality setting" where as application controlled forces full trilinear. This is much better though because it's hard to notice the difference and the latest drivers are pretty bad performing (looks like nvidia made sacrifices in performance overall for other cards just to make the FX series better). Other 4x.xx drivers do not use brilinear filtering on the "quality" setting (same as setting application controlled in 43.45) and on "performance" they use full bilinear...
So the 43.45 are the best, at a cost of a bit of image quality but the gains much out-do the IQ difference that you have to squint and compare screenshots to notice for the most part.
if you want the latest drivers for nvidia go here

hope it helps :sup:
