command & conquer install won't run

My hdd is partitionned in 2: C:\ for winxp and the progs, E:\ for the games, divx etc.
I installed c & c (original game) on E, it has been running smoothly till I had to format C, then c & c wouldn't run.
I tried to reinstall over, but it refused and gave a choice between repairng or removing but both failed. I then removed the c & c manually, cleaned the registry (both using regcleaner and by hand) and tried a clean install but only repetedly get this message: "error 1316 network error occurred while atempting to read from the file F:\9cbc.msi (F:\ is the cdrom drive letter)". I tied an install after copying the cd on the hdd but it failed too.
would you please help me ?

ya sayd ya had cleand the registery that was not so smart i also did do that with WarCraft III, when i reinstalled it it gave an error to (Don't know anymore what that error was). So at first i repared my Windows OS so the regitery was normal at default again.
After this reinstalled WarCraft III and it was working perfect again.

Try this to m8, should work ;)

thks, good idea ! but did you lose all previous settings, winxp updates etc ? on another hand i got this prob with C & C and not with Freedom fighters which is also an EA Games product.
