I had Baldur's Gate 5 disc that had a damaged fifth disc. So, I bought the BG&TOSC OS 3 disc set. I uninstalled my old and installed my new, and everything worked fine. When prompted to register, I skipped (since interplay is dead). After a third time, a message flashed quickly, then away. Since this happened, my pc crashes everytime I try to play. My cursor disappears; ctrl-alt-del has no effect; complete freeze!! I tried uninstall/reinstall; no help. I tried no read ahead-empty cache; no help. I tried to register from the start menu file, and the registry window crashes me. The only thing I can do is on/off-reboot-long pain in the neck start up (which I have been doing for 2 days constantly). I would really appreciate any advice that can be offered. Thanx

Greetings,
Search in the registery for the game and delete any keys.
Run Regedit.
Be careful with what you deleted.

Thanx for your suggestion. I did as instructed, and things improved. However, I still cannot play the game. It prompts me to register, now as B4, but the register still crashes me. I went digging into the folders, and found 2 things: 1) chitin.key is the registry file; if I try to open it, I crash and if I delete it, I get "path not found" 2) BGMain2.EXE, if I try to open this, I crash
I would appreciate more advice as this is over my head.
Thanx again for the guidance
