Okay... It took me forever to get this program working... (Just shows how little I know about win2k)

Anyways, it comes with:

HIEW.exe
HIEW32.exe

I successfully ran HIEW.exe and successfully edited the file but it asked to truncate, I said yes... and everything seemed fine but - of course - the file was no longer a valid win32 program so I couldn't run it...

At that point I realized I needed HIEW32.exe (or maybe I'm wrong) but I can't get it to work... Every time I run it I get the same error:

"Unsupported Video Mode"

I'm a newb cracker, yes... This is my first stab at it and I'm so close to successfully cracking my first game... Anyways, if someone knows of maybe a better tut I can look at with programs that might actually run in win2k, I would appreciate it.

Hiew alone won't assist you much.

You'll also need something like Softice.

Hackman will work on Win2000 and is similar to Hiew

Softice is needed for some, but also get FrogSice (only win9x), and other Softice addons, as some cd protections like Securom will detect Softice while running and send a reboot command to it to reboot your pc.
