Does anyone know if there is a patch or crack that dissables the cd-protection of "True Crimes: Streets Of LA" for PC? It says That I have some emulation software enabled. I have cloneCD and Deamon tools but I dont want to uninstall then. Thanks Fleischer

I downloaded it and I made a CloceCD image of the first disc of True Crime and mounted it with Daemon Tools but it still doesnt work. Any Ideas? Thanks for the help.

Remove CloneCD from the system, and use Daemon Tool v3.46.
Only this will work, if you have the real CloneCD's from CXZiSO.

I tried everyting with the Daemon Tools v3.46 but i always recieve the same error message : "CD/DVD Emulation software has been detected. PLease disable all CD/DVD emulation software and re-start the game" I tried buring the cd's with all clone cd, 120% alcolhol, everything possible, finally i used iso buster to extract all the files into a folder then dragged them onto a blank cd, it worked and installed fine, but i still need a no cd crack to play it, everything else doesn't work. Does anyone one else have any other ideas? Razor1911 needs to create a no-cd patch for it

hey bossam02, I am really sorry, but i am still very lost, i followed the directs but i still get confused, could you do me a favor and explain what u did in your words, like # Step One: ......, i get lost when its say like burn cd2 with alcohol and then later it says burn cd2,cd3,cd4 like a reg iso file, wtf? i am confused, could you please help me out?, Thanks for your time man :)

I tried the method witht he Alcohol 120% with all 4 cd's amd then i put cd 1 in to play, i made sure all emulations r off and disabled, the game started up, (well the loading screen) and my comp was loading but nothing happend, it never said need cd 1 or anything or emulation detected but it just runs and runs and nothing heppens...any ideas?

Download the newest Virtual drive, Game drive(it's much better, it has live update for newest protections!!!), and game burn!!! they rock!!!
www.farstone.com i think it's the 8.0 version. it has option to bypass the safedisc and etc. protections. all my games work in that program. delete clone CD and all the others. this is the only program you will ever need, I assure you!!! i guess??

If you have clonecd installed, you DO NOT need to uninstall it. Just simply right click on the CloneCDtray icon in the taskbar (if you have it running) and untick hide cdr media. Then you should be able to emulate this game just fine with either DT or Alcohol.

Everything possible, i tried and nothing worked, it always says: Can't Find CD1 or Please insert CD1 or something like that, so if someone who actually has the game and got it to work, please post how you did it, b.c all the ideas of others aren't working for me, Thanks :graysigh:

Hey Cartman, You will have to register . you go to live update and follow the steps of registration. after you are registered, ypu may download the newest bypasses for securom, safedisc etc. get it? i presonally don't have the game, but some of my friends have sucseeded (i'm from croatia, my english is not exceleent). BTW is the game original??? What is the version of da game???

It reminds me all the problems people got when they try to install and play
Spellforce a few month ago. Wise men said that "you need to uninstall all burning softwares except this one , and try this soft because its is better than this one and so on...

At the end the only thing that people needed to make sure is "did u install SP4 ?"

its not the problem with wrong cd, it's just that it starts up but when you check procceses you see that there is no cpu power being given to the exe.




oh yeah I also got a new computer with really high tech burner and 2 (Dual VIA) amd 64-bit fx-53 cpu and 4 gig ram!!!!!!!!!

hrvoje, yes i updates it to v 8.0 but its still doesn't work, True crimes is Safe disc 3, on game drive it only supports up to v 2. so yeah, any more ideas?

I installed the game all 4 cd with daemon tools v.346. After i installed the game i disabled Alcohol because i use it as a virtual drive most of the time and then i mounted cd 1 of True crime with deamon tools with the option Safedisc on. And played it without any prob..

The reason we need a proper crack is that many of us use Daemon Tools and CCD for other purposes.

For example: I keep images of my kids' games on the computer (little kids games like Reader Rabbit Preschool) which run from CD. I use Daemon Tools and CCD to mount these images to a virtual drive so don't have to switch the original CD that I bought in and out of the CD drive contantly. Each game is mounted to it's own virtual drive and stays that way so I don't have to switch them out.

If I use the methods described here I have to disable these virtual drives and I won't do that. I shouldn't have to do that considering that I use DT and CCD for legal purposes.

So, has anyone found a crack for TCSOLA?

I only wanted to place a final word on this problem. And if you want to play this game using a backup image, there's no other way for now AFAIK.

You can play it with the original cd still, but I absolutely hate to play games with original cd's because I have dumb brother and when he needs to insert another cd he just drops the old one on the table without putting it in some jewel case or something. So all my older CDs were scratched as hell and that's not nice when considering my money I spent on them.

As far as there's no crack for this game, this is the only way.

Well I just realized one thing in your post:

You are speaking about some other mounted images. Well these doesn't matter since they're all other games. I expressed it wrong maybe but the only thing you have to unmount is all the other TC images, e.g those u used for installing only. The other games' images doesn't matter.

game runs with daemon tool before?
If not something can be wrong such as graphic card drivers upgrade/antivirus in background/or some cd rom emulator.
I have disabled/uninstalled every strange cd emulator program update my drivers (as always) and applied the crack and game run perfectly.

Yesterday i wrote a mail to Activision support because i have the same prob all what they could say is please install newest Driver for ur Graphics Card. No matter what I do, I keep getting the " truecrime.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"-thingy! Man, I can dreams those words... :/

Even a fresh new install of WinXP didn't do the trick, neither did a side-installation (besides XP) of Win ME work. I kept on getting the same message.

Seems to me this is some sort of hardware-error, since it is a Windows-error-message!!

Anyone any ideas?

I do have the latest drivers, except maybe for the soundcard (still searching for that one). But I can't imagine not having the latest sound-driver-update giving me such an error, since it works in all the games I have played! Or is it possible that I can get such an error because of it?

2 Other things that make me doubt about my hardware, is that I think (although it works all the time in a normal way) my soundcard itself may have a little problem. Once when my PC had been opened I accidentically touched the soundcard while the PC was turned on, directly followed by some strange high sounds...... Although after that incident it has never let me down!

And the other: I do have quite old a motherboard (never updated the BIOS), but I don't guess that might be an issue! Or does it?

And -last of all- as far as I know there hasn't been released a game patch up till now for True crime (or am I wrong?)!

Hmm... that crack in the beginning of the topic sure worked for me... I can play the game alright, but I haven't got too much time though... I gotta study :O Learn russian and stuff... Well... at least the game looks alright, but the graphics are a little iffy... I mean... I looks too... umm... cornery(?) for a PC game, but it's alright and the dialogue has been alright so far... And the characters are well moddeled... Yes... Well... yes.
