cannot re-install C &C generals

Hi ! After having had to reinstall win xp pro on partition c:\ I had to uninstall and reinstall C & C genarals on partition E:\ . Problem is: when I insert cd 1 (original) the setup options are only "repair" or "remove" which both abort with an msi file missing message.
what should I do ? this didnot occured with my other games/software

Goto the Add/Remove in the Control panel, and do REMOVE. When the dialog comes up SELECT EVERYTHING. This should delete every trace of it, then it should work again.

delete the C&C folder on E drive. if you have formatted and reinstalled windows on the C. C&C should not come up.
is it orginal copy???
