Homeworld 2 +6 trainer trouble

hello, i was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. i recently found the +6 trainer from outcast for Homeworld 2. i went through the usual placing it into the right directory (which i'm not entirly sure is correct since homeworld 2 only has the executable on the desktop and not in the games folder itself) , did what it said, picked homeworld 2, and when i hit "run game," it came up with a message saying "Cannot find main program.exe" am i doing something wrong with this particular trainer or something?

no offense, but you think i havent tried that? there wasnt an nfo with instalation instructions, but the trainer itself had the "stick trainer in the same directory as the game executable" im used to that. but i'm also used to there BEING a game executable in the games folder, not just the desktop shortcut, which said trainer does not work with. the problem with homeworld 2 is that there is no game executable in the folder, so using those trainers which you have to hit "run game" with appears to be useless. anyone know how to work outcasts homeworld 2 trainer? ive used plenty of trainers before with the same needs as this one, but this one is racking my brains.
