I've checked the link out, but i only found the English/German/French version crack and it doesn't help me out because i need the Italian version crack.

Can someone explain why the deviance nocd works fine for some,
and shows black screen blocking the game for others ???
I see a lot of gamers dealing with this, but haven't found the solution.

Hallo!!

Had the same Problem. Try this:

1) Edit your Colin McRae Rally 4 Windows shortcut (found on the desktop and/or the start menu) by right clicking on it and selecting properties.
2) In the target box, add NOVIDEO after the target entry, so the target looks like this

"C:Program FilesCodemastersColin McRae Rally 04cmr4.exe" NOVIDEO .

It worked for me!!!! :face:

So, to take the things from the beginning: The crack that worked for me is at:

After that, I had the problem with the black screen on the beginning of the game. In

I found the solution of this problem, which is the one I mentioned above. My personal shortcut target is the following (which naturally depends on where the game has been saved):

"C:\Games\Codemasters\Colin McRae Rally 04\cmr4.exe" NOVIDEO

What you actually need to change is only the ending:
...\cmr4.exe" with ...\cmr4.exe" NOVIDEO

(the " and the space afterwards are needed)

I must be very unfortunate then, because niether this NOVIDEO command
lets me play the game. :grayno:

It wasn't the nocd nor the video causing the black screen after all.
The bloody ZoneAlarm caused the conflict! :enforcer:

i have zonealarm, i have turned it off AND tried using NOVIDEO but still I get black screen whenever i try to start a race :graysad:

- If you use 'NOVIDEO' the frontend/attract video still plays, but only
the audio. This then keeps the game background music. If the 'NOSOUND'
option is also set then the movie is fully disabled.

- "SAFEMODE" / This is the same as running with all of the following options: RESETDISPLAY, NOSHADERS, NOSOUND, NOVIDEO, RESETCONTROLS

- "STATICBUFFERS" -> Set this to fix the Geforce 4 MX440 crash bug for
nvidia drivers below version 43.80.

- Disable all antivirus programs, such as Norton...

When I shutdown ZoneAlarm, the game runs without any of these commands.

I have some problems with the game.

The instalation work but when i play the shortcut the screen goes white.

I have instaled the new driver for my video Gigabyte Radeon 9200. The system has Barton 2500 and 512 Mb RAM.

The same problem i had with Colin 3.

Is someone who knows what can i do to make the game work ?
