SACRED and the whole NO CD issue

Basically its like this- Im a BIG SACRED fan, and I am on a TON of message boards, but none more helpfull than Ascarons for info on this game. Basically its like this - SACRED has ALOT OF PROBLEMS. Im not talking a glitch here or there, im talking MAJOR ISSUES. The game might as well have been sold as a BETA version...check out the message boards yourself to see what people are whining about. Im not saying that YOU will have the same issues other people have, but thats neither here nor there...

Basically the reason I am telling you this is because you are all asking for a CRACK for this game, and you think its because its a HARD game to crack, and you think that they releaed 1.6 because WE are cracking their game..the TRUTH of the matter is the patches are coming out because the game does not function properly! They have SO many more problems right now, they could give 2 craps if there was a NO CD CRACK. Furthermore, I wouldn't expect to see an actual crack for this game until there is a FINAL, or at least close to FINAL patch released, and my friends version 1.7 will be out in about 2-3 weeks, and then 1.8 in about a month or so. I mean, if I were a cracker, I wouldnt waste my time cracking something that I would just have to RE-crack again in 2 weeks. Don't you agree?

Listen, I'm not trying to sound like an ass out here, I really LOVE SACRED! Its a GREAT game, so great that I BOUGHT IT! Am I No Swearing!!! about the problems in it? Yes I am. Do I want a Crack for the game? YES I do. But the fact is, until the company can figure out how to make their game work the right way, I wouldn't hold my breath for a no cd crack to be released. If you really want to know whats going on, check out Sacred official web site. Go to the message boards and find out whats going on with a final version of the game. When there is a clear vision on that, there will be a clear vision on the no cd crack for it.

And thats all I have to say about that.

you're right, this game sounds like beta version, and Ascaron knows how to release games and fix major issues with bugfixes updates ... You're right , you bought the game, like me ( but I still wait for it to be at home ) . Version 1.6 should be the release version, I really love this game but : If you are a Gamer with no internet connection to update, you will be really No Swearing!!! to buy this game .

well...you CAN go ahead and BUY the import...but first of all, its NO better than the US version so your just better off buyin one that you can at least play online with others that speak your language...

Yes, the game has bugs..but you know what- its a GREAT game. I support developers that make good games, even buggy ones-because the money i spend and you spend buying a buggy game will give them the funds and support they need to fix it properly.

If you just spend some of your time working, instread of complaining on here about a "no cd crack" you could afford to BUY the game and wouldnt NEED it to be cracked. If you like a game BUY it! :flaming:

well first off no, the UK import game is no better than the US version as far as game play goes... but it does have the cool bloody violence the US version doesn't have. and the US and UK versions both play on the same servers when in multiplayer... the Germans are the ones that get a different server so everyone will be speaking the same language.

Ok..yes the UK and German versions DO have blood which is really awesome..nothing like watching an arm or head fly off with a gush of blood when your foe falls in a puddle of more blood... haha

Big deal with blood and decaps... you can simply edit the one ini file and set violence to 1 to enable it... and let's be honest here folks after the thousandth monster that you see fly apart the novelty is well worn off.

Ok...um...I cant find the INI file in the us version ..i did find a cgf file with a violence thing set to 2 .. i changed it to 1 and I dont see much of a difference ... Oh and I hear that it only works up to version 1.5 is that true?

With patch 1.5 they removed the possibility to change the violence settings in the US version. You can change the settings in the cfg file but nothing will change ingame.

Yeah, I actually have the German Version, the UK version AND the US version...so its all good to me...I wonder though, if there will ever be a patch for the US version to put the blood into it? ...Anyway, just a thought ...
I agree with you about the US version being very watered down..I was VERY suprised when I got my copy and saw it for myself. Seriously...whats the deal with that nonsence...I mean..did Janet Jacksons boob have something to do with this too?? :grin:

Encore the distributer in US and Canada wanted to get a Teen rating so it would sell more copies. But as we all no the Mature rating never slowed Diablo down one bit. Encore skimmed on the boxing as well. No map of the land was included and the manual was in black and white instead of full color like the UK version. Pinching pennies and making Ascaron look bad. Encore you suck.

Will there be a gore patch? No way Encore will allow that but some hacker may be able to come up with an exe that enables the gore. I'm not asking anyone to, nor am I stating I know how. Its just an observation.

im kinda new to this....i have the UK version and i live in the US. when i go to update it, it should update itself correctly with the UK patch right? just wondering cause i have had some bugs that i have only seen maybe 2 people talk about on the sacred forums. was just wondering if this could be cause it was patched incorrectly?

Yes, that is correct. The game will update correctly.

Seems to me. They are more concern about fixing to stop bloodshed & cheating cd checking than bothered to fix all the major problems in the game. 1.6 didn't fix much other than 1 or 2 minor problems but it did stop you from getting bloody & stop our previous deamontools usage.

at least they are patching the game quite often. one or two fixes ever couple of weeks is better than waiting a month or more for a patch that has no real noticeable fixes like this other game i have called X2 The Threat.

Oh, by the way when I mentioned a patch for blood..I in NO way meant ENCORE or Ascaron releasing one...I mean c'mon seriously. I Did mean that hopefully someone, one day along the line will just be bored and decide to create an exe file or something to hack the game and put that stuff back in...or figure out how to copy a file from the UK or German versions and throw em into teh US version to bring back el blood n gore...heeh..
But on a more serious not..Encore sux..yes.
The Internet situation in Sacred NEEDS to be fixed...among other things...thank god they release patches often...but still...problems galore.

Like I said earlier, I do have the original but it has a nasty scratch on the back and the only other way to fix it is to pay "the man" money to replace a disc that I should have been able to backup in the first place. So, I'm not trying to be a "warez", "pirate" or other some form of software edited. Just trying to avoid paying even more money when I shouldn't have to.

P.S. I'm sure someone will rant about me taking better care of my discs... and maybe I should...but that's really another matter altogether. :)

Actually they did alot of work on the whole experiance balance. It was totally wacked in multiplayer and even single player was bad. You got virtually no XP for killing Dragons and lower level characters got almost all the xp if in a party leaving higher level characters with nothing at all. 1.6 xp balance is way way better. You can no longer rush lower level characters or in my case I was loosing my xp to low level characters (aka xp leeches). They fixed an expieriance shrine that was being exploited as well, It gave 500% xp instead of the normal 50%. Alot of xp exploits were closed up as well as dupeing with the combo master. The major fixes will be in 1.7 patch due out at the end of the month. (weapon balance, quest bugs, and other knows crash issues)

Hmm... too many issues. I will probably wait till 1.7 comes out and see how stable it is before restarting my game. I shouldn't have bought it so early :(

Yeah, I beat the game on the co-op lan setting and now I'm just waiting for the 1.7 patch to come out.. I read that there will be a wipe of online playing. (meaning my level 34 wood elf will get wiped back to 0 when I connect for online play) Why bother building him up anymore if he is gonna get wiped. They are doing this to wipe the slate clean because too many people did the xp exploits and now have super high characters. It will be like starting all over but in the long run I think its worth it. For this game to be good we have to wait out all the fixes first.

Interesting that the Australian version of Sacred gets a M15+ rating, which I think is the 2nd highest you can get for games in Australia (highest being MA) but still has no violence. We end up with the US version it appears.

No it's not. Just the beta and as I've written in 2 other threads:

Since 1.7 is still in beta phase the exe might change a bit until the final version is ready. And it would just be a waste of time to make a nocd patch for something that is still beta so I doubt that you'll find a crack.


Why don't you try to search for "sacred beta" next time instead of writing these unnecessary posts?

it doens´t matter how much security they put on the game there is always somebody smarter who will crack it. and also the 1.7 patch is like e couple of months late.... Zzz

This is maybe worth to say for all who could not start the CD image. First, this, what now is coppy-paste from the original:

*Go to file->options->emulation and tick the RMPS
Click on image burning wizard
browse to the Sacred CD1.mds file you unpacked from this file

Just fallow the procedure and will be fine; the point is to have a recorder with RAW recording option and to record the image with X4, maybe like me on CDRW and if the next time don't want to start, just start Alcohol 120%, go to the emulations option, close the program and then again start the game. For those who have US version, start the regedit, find the Sacred key and insteed of Language US key, change in ENG key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred

Instal the patch, and that's it. When you'll start the game after the patching, there will be a message that some models are missmatched, but it does not matter.

Once again - follow the instructions like they are. I've tested with Win2k. Version 1.7 brings this game on a high level and, if you like this game, it is worth to be careful and to try.
