I've started downloading a torrent, got half of a 3.2gig file, and then my computer crashed (as it always does).

So basically I restarted it, and tried to run the torrent again. I located the folder of where the saved downloaded file is and clicked "OK" but once I've done that nothing happens. Usually, the client checks the existing file on the hard drive and then continues the download but it's not working now, it just freezes. I wouldn't say it crashes because I can easily get out of the client by pressing cancel.

So any ideas what the problem is and how to fix? (I don't particularly want to start the d/l again although this is the only remedy I've found to the problem as it has happened to me before...)

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling also but that didn't work...

Maybe the tracker is down.

No, it isn't. Usually when the tracker is down I'll get a message saying it is. The problem is that it's not even checking the existing file before it tries connecting to the peers. Any ideas?

Happened to me. I'm not sure what I did but I kept on trying. Eventually it worked. But its nothing wrong with the tracker, it checks the files then connects to the tracker anyways. (BTW I meant over days not just trying repeatedly)
