Sacred update error

I tried to update Sacred from 1.0.2 to 1.2.0 but I always get the error message: old file missing, and the patch stops. I used the original exe naturally.. :grin:
Any ideas?

I also got some problems with patching to 1.2.0...
everytime the patch process ends at "sound.bak" and the patch-program shuts down...
if i now try to play sacred with the use of the crack (1.3) there isn't any sound in the game and after making a new character the screen turns black instead of showing the sequence of act I...

without updating to 1.2.0 and with the 1.0.0-crack I have sound, act I -sequence is shown and I can play for a few moments, but not longer than 5 minutes without the game returning to desktop and then I can't load any saved games...

anyone out there who can help me :?

yep, i have the same problem, 10 times reinstall and it gives a ++++.
Unfortunatly another crap game which is bugged like hell. :angryfire:

LOL :hit: 1.0.2.0 and 1.2.0.0 are the SAME versions.Exactly,with 1.0.3.8 and 1.3.0.8,too! Ascaron said,that they use different versions internally and externally (downloadable versions).So,you can´t update from 1.0.2.0 to 1.2.0.0 ! :hit:

you have to be patient when sound.PAK is performing.it can last a few minutes because it has to "unzip" around 380 mb.When you are kicked back to desktop,try this: Start your config.exe and disable fullscreen(Vollbild).

You should start your wmfdist.exe in sacred folder.It´s a confirmed problem with Media player 9 codec....

This cannot be, because i managed once to install 1.2. I tried the 1.3, but it didn't work. So I had to uninstall, I cannot install the patch again til now (after 5 reinstalls)

i can wait as long i want, after some minutes the patch-program just crashes down...

i already tried to start it without fullscreen, but there was the same problem...

starting wmfdist.exe also didn't help me...

today i tried to update sacred with the RTPatch Wizard, installing the first patch wasn't a problem, but when sacred.exe already was at version 1.3 and even the other files where updatet, the patch process started again at the beginning and after some seconds the same error occured that MaDevil already posted...

Dafür hab ich Verständnis.Bei mir läufts bis jetzt noch super.Gott sei Dank...bleib locker,bei mir hats am Anfang auch gemuckt-das wird schon. i suggest deinstall sacred and deinstall sacred registries.Then install and start the patches directly from sacred folder.thats what is in german forums suggested when old file not found error occures.Additionly you should try the windows standard ide-driver,instead of nforce or via drivers.Secondly, the via miniport driver causes errors on some machines.Disable it.
