I want to set up a SHOUTcast internet radio server. But I have 1 problem, I have a router with a firewall. The LinkSys router is always connected to 2 windows computer and sometimes to a laptop.

I also have a hub that I haven't used in a while.

I want my main PC(this one) to not be connected to the router because the router has a firewall and to run a internet server, you need there to be no firewall. I am not sure, but is there a way to let all the computer have internet all the time, but have 1 with no hardware firewall.

I think I could do it by connecting this computer to the hub and the others to the router. Does anyone know what would work?

Do I need to unistall the router software on this computer?

I am trying to configure to open ports. The default for SHOUTcast is 8000. When I go into forwarding in my router settings, I enter in 7500-8500 and then 192.168.1.1 and I pick both or TCP or UDP. When I press "apply" it says settings sucessful, but when I go back to the forwarding area, It doesn't say anything about 7500-8500. The form is blank.

I really just want to not have this computer connected to the router, I already have a software firewall on this PC, which is set to allow all when I am trying to get this to work.

Please HELP!

Have you tried updating the firmware on your Linksys router m8? My manager at work had the same prob, and his ISP said there was a prob with this his router, so sent him out another one.

Anyways, it should be configured through open port settings on the router like you are trying to do. What other options do you have in your settings page, other than forwarding? Is there just a straight enable and disable?

Sorry dude, I've got no idea on a home router. If it had been a Cisco or 3com layer 3 I might have been able to help ya.
