Ever since upgrading (or should I say downgrading) to XP, my computer has been completely screwed over by more things than you can imagine. Not the least of those troubles is BnW not even starting up after installing any patch. I can play the game without patches, but you all know how playing an unpatched game is! I've tried v1.1, v1.2, and v1.3, and it's the same problem each time: I plug in the CD, press "Play", and Windows XP just sits there like it has nothing to do. /me tears hair out :urpleup2 You can't believe how aggravating it is to be under attack by such an UNRELIABLE system! If there were another operating system that could play the games I like (and everything else I need to do), I'd make the switch in a heartbeat.

You say you have upgraded but what do you mean by that? Have you just installed XP over 98 or ME or did you do format and do a clean install?

Sad to say it wasn't a clean install.

Didn't think so.
Now would I be correct in my guess that you are still running on a FAT 32 partition or did you change to NTFS?
If you are on FAT 32 you need to change it as even though XP will still run, it was designed to work on NTFS.
BTW, I have found XP Home to be really stable and reliable but mine is set up as it should be and I keep up to date with MS updates.

You can change from FAT32 to NTFS but you can't do the reverse.
