why would u need to update Call of Duty? The game runs perfectly without updating - both Single player and Multiplayer (only gone online and played thrice but it works).

yes it works

but why NOT update it?? all the squads play on the latest update
all the servers r on the latest update:(

now i have around 2-300 to choose from instead of 3-4000 when updated

thats why

It doesnt work because you downloaded the game. You need the ORIGINAL exe file.

Either way downloading the game is illegal, and we cannot help you with this.

LiverBird: keep the scratched CD, and send it to the game makers. They will probably give you a new one (for free), and make sure you make a backup of it then ;)

You can also get a scratch removal kit to get rid of those stratches on the cd. Or You can do what Spy said, you should get a replacement from them.
