X2 The Threat Patch 1.2 and NoCD

Second Thing: Im from Germany, i hope my english is understandable, i give my best ;)!

So, does anyone already have the 1.2 Patch? This Egosoft-freaks only let registrated Users download it!

If anyone has a link to the Patch or a NoCD, please post!

The one showing up on Filemirror has an exe much smaller than the 1.01 patch. I'm going to be suspicious of this one, even though it doesn't show as having any virii, I'd still pass.

its exactly the same file size as the one on egosoft.com. I think using NoCD cracks is a bigger risk but hey if you dont want the patch dont bother downloading it.

The patch is also genuine btw.

Use the Obit release of X2 then you dont need a nocd crack when you mount it with DAemon tools becouse it dissables the *SecureROM* copy protection. This is of course only for you who have the original!

Hmm, I updated the game to version 1.2, and mounted the OBIT image with Daemon Tools 3.44, and then exited Daemon. HOwever, when I try to start the game, I get the message saying that SecuROM has conflict with emulation software? Am I doing something wrong here or what?

I had the same problem but when I dissabled the secureROM emulation the error message dissapeard.

--Moople you cant have CloneCD or Daemontools installed when you "boot" from the original. I think theres a list of programs at the secureRom homepage that you cant have installed. Try making an image of the game with CloneCd and then mount it with Daemon tools.

I know that this question seems rather stupid, but I have trouble patching my game to v1.2. The patch simply seemed to overwrite the 01.cat and 01.dat and so on, but did not extract them. When I opened the game the version was stated to be 1.1US, not 1.2US. Did something go wrong when I patched it?

You mean in the Start-screen, were you can change some options?
I think this is a "bug", it still says 1.1 but the changes were made (Just play the game, you should have some performance-increase and way better steering and some other nice things)

1.2 includes all 1.1 fixes - patch 1.1 is therefore not required when patching from 1.0 to 1.2!

• Better alert and notification system for factories on maps and property menu
BUGFIX:
• FIXED: Station announcements stopping after a while
• FIXED: Ecliptic Projector was incorrectly displayed in turrets
• FIXED: Strafe Drive max speed was not respected
MINOR FIXES OR IMPROVEMENTS:
• NPC Ships no longer collect ore fragments
• FIXED: Police Licenses were sometimes 'Destroyed'

the image mounting trick doesnt work for me either, therefore there is genuine requirement for a 1.2 crack

That was strange. Do you have any other emulation software like alcohol installed? I have the latest version of alcohol installed on my computer and it works fine. Daemon tools v3.44 with all emulation options turned off is not detected as emulation software by the game. Nero image drive and clonecd may cause problems. There are certainly other programs too which cause this error.

You can download the offical patches form egosoft. And the 1.2 no cd posted here works fine. It says 1.1 in the spalsh but it is 1.2 cause scripts that only work in 1.2 work for me and I downloaded the offical 1.2 patch.
