I recently got Sword of the Samurai PAL version and I want to patch it to NTSC (so I can actually see it).

I used the latest version of Nero to extract the ISO, and PPF-O-Matic v. 3.0 to apply the patch. It gave me an error saying that the ISO was the incorrect size, but I decided to continue anyway. It told me the patch was successful, so I burned the ISO to a DVD also using Nero. When I popped the burn into my PS2 (which has a Magic 3 chip) the game worked, but it appeared that the patch did not do anything because it was still being displayed like a PAL game.

I've tried three different SotS PAL-NTSC patches so far, but they have ALL turned up like that. Am I missing a step here, or do I just have really bad luck finding good ppf's? Should I be using different programs or what?

Try using cdrwin to make a .bin file instead of nero, the ppf patches might be for bin files (which are different in structure and size to iso files), might sort your problem.

NTSC has a higher frame rate than PAL and refresh rate (i think) so you would need to get the NTSC version. well that is wot i would of thought.

biller the actual use of these 'ppf' files is to patch a number of issues in game iso/bin files, being from pal-ntsc patching, adding cheats/trainers etc. they are nothing really to do with frame rates etc.
