To solder or not to solder?

Is it ok to get a solder free mod chip or is it better to go through the installation of soldering the chip in?

Don't get a modchip. Use the swap trick method it's better and won't void your warranty. If you solder it, you have a btter chance of ruining your entire system. Get swap magic from www.modchips.com (http://www.modchips.com).:)
