Well there is many debates which is better. I think dvd-r are slightly more compatible with dvd players, though.

-R is usually less expnsive, but many argue that the quality is not as good.
+R used to be less compatible with most drives, but they are fine now, and are just as good as -R in terms of compatibility.

-R is limited in the speed of recording, so +R will win the war.
Get a +R burner, or dual format ;)

@Vile
What do you mean by quality? The quality of the disc itself or the video or data it contains?

I have to disagree at the moment on the statement of +R winning the war .
But maybe when the dual layer burners come around then maybe +R may take a step forward.

On the quality, i would say as long as you get a good brand media then the quality will be good.

I meant in terms of the media quality. (DVD-R discs are supposedly less reliable than +R)

Personally my Pioneer 105 (DVD-R) works fine for me at the moment but the -R format is limited in terms of burning speed, which is why it will loose the battle in the long run.
