Hello and happy newyear!

I got a dvd+ burner for Christmas. I wonder if it is possible to burn games with multiple game discs onto one dvd.
For example, could I burn Enter the matrix (has 4 discs) onto one dvd?

My question to you is how I can do this?:greenconw

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My guess is to rip out an image file from these 4 cds. 4 different images of 4 different cds. Once that's done, then drag them to any empty dvd-r/+r and burn them that way. Use Nero To do all of this.:)

Hey,

Well, I guess it depends on the installation process of the game. If the setup process asks for a particular file on the next CD (e.g. please insert the CD containing dataxx.cab and click ok--it will ask u to find the location of that file).

If that's the case then all you really need to do is copy all the files to a temp directory and burn it with nero.

But also you have to watch out cause some of the file names can be the same so it will constantly read disc one instead of going on to disc 2 or 3...

Ok, to make things more clearer: You create a temp directory on the HD, dump all files and from every next disc you just dump the installation files.

If the game's installation askes for the next disc--not a particular file on the next disc--then it won't work. Games like Call of Duty and Mafia ask for a particular disc and therefore a one disc thing won't do u any good.

But games like Enter the Matrix, Max Payne 2, Splinter Cell, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic all have their installation processes ask for a particular file and therefore a one DVD will work, The setup just won't ask you for the next installatin disc and the next benefit is that you won't get the wrong volume in CD-ROM error message when u get when installing games sometimes.

I know because I have installed all the games that I have mentioned onto my computer and it does a real treat.

Hey! Thanks a lot!!

Last night I tried what big_kel said, with the game beyond good and evil, and it worked like badabing!
First I took into account what rvds619 said as well, but then I had to look up the files on the dvd. Afterwards I just copied all the files into one folder and installed the game with "no questions asked".
But still it`s a good point what rvds619 said.

Right now my only problem is that for some strange reason, Nero doen`t recognize my dvd+-burner!?!
So I`m in for a new dvd+burn program. Any suggestions?

Have a nice weekend

So, Nero is giving you the craps eh? Well, I recommend a proggy called CopytoDVD. It can only do data CDs, Audio CDs, Data DVDs and finally DVD videos but I found it to be very useful and simple to use--as I only use it to make my DVD video backups.

Or just use Alcohol 120. First use a program like winiso to put all your files to one big iso file. then burn that iso using alcohol.

Wouldn't it work if you burnt each image to the DVD-R in a separate session? Technically when the DVD-R is read it should show up as several CDs in my computer and everything should work fine.

When you do this it won't show up as multiple cds it would just be a multisession dvd-r (which appears like any other dvd in windows) also if you put this disk into a normal dvd rom then it might only show the last session. big kel hit the nail right on the head in the way in which to do this.
If all else fails i suppose you could always just burn the iso's to the dvd then mount each one individually during install with alcohol or daemon tools..

Hehe, I know, thats wat my older brother suggested me to do.
But I wanted something more convenient when I install the games, instead of having to mount all the dics each time.
Not really a big job though, just me beeing lazy :rangesle

Thanks
