As to what strider said in a previous post, copy all sound and other data from cd to HD.
With the no-cd crack on, it will be forcing the game to view the installed folder as the CD and maybe missing certain files, so when it goes to maybe play a sound etc, it boots you out.
Or edit the registry and change all paths to .//

I dont play the Sims, so I dont know if its 100%
But copy over files from the CD which was not installed during setup, as they may be required to play the game 100% with no-cd.

I dunno the heirarchy of the CD, but copy the Sound, Data folders or anything similar like that into the root of the game folder on your Hard Disk.

it is my sound files cuz i went to the ea games tech support site and it says if your game fails to load bla bla bla put in the shortcut -nosound at the end so it doesnt play sound and it ran for like 5 minutes with nothing wrong! so i guess i got a bad sound file somewhere

but if you follow everyone elses guide m8 and copy your sound files off the original cd (r/h mouse click and copy) then go into the sims folder and paste... that should fix your sound problem... as explained many a times above
