ps 2 cd-r does not boot....?

Hi!
First, happy new year @ll!

i have got a dms3 v2.0 modchip installed in my ps2 an downloaded an image file of a ps2 game (smackdown-just bring it). It is recommended to burn the image to a verbatim cd-r. So i did-- but when i want to boot the disc a message appears saying "please insert a playstation or playstation 2 format disc". So i thought perhaps the image file is damaged.But when i try to boot the dms explorer or virtua tennis (both burned to cd-r)for example the same message appears. Do i have to think of anything special when i burn an image to a cd-r?Or is it possible that a wire isn't soldered correctly(ps 1 backups work!!)

p.s.:does anyone know wether the original cd of smackdown"just bring it" is dvd or cd?

try holding in the power button until the blue light comes on. I have a duo chip all thats what i have to do to boot cd games.

I#m sorry but i don't know what you mean?do i have to hold in the reset button for a few seconds?

When your PS2 in on standby so the red light is on, press and hold the rest button so it turns on, and hold the button until the blue light on the eject button appears then release your finger.

well thank you for the detailed description :-). i thought he meant something more difficult. but it still does not work....

Arent you suppose to hold the button when booting PS1 game only?

Thats what i thought but i thought its worth a try, A ha i just relised try burning it in Mode 2 XA. That should do the trick.

hi,

i took back the ps2 to the one who built in the chip for me. Now he wants to tell me that a ps2, although modchip inside, does not boot cd-rs (but you should burn the DMS Explorer soft ware to cd-r?!?!). The he told me that a ps2 can't read DVD rips and that there are only ps2 games in dvd format, no cd format games. Is he right?

Most b*ll*cks i have ever heard, his ripping you off mate, there are PS2 CD-Rom based games and a chipped PS2 should be able to read CD-R, and they can also read DVD rips. What to do about it i don't know mate its up to you.
