hey guys,

I am looking for a good free util that will monitor the cpu temp. Its for an intel board using an old P4. Its up at work. The board is soo crappy that it doesnt even have one built into the bios. It had uber overheating problems.

But anways, I was just looking for a good free software temp monitor until. Thanks

P.s. Also, what is the temp that the cpu should opperate at and what is to high? Is the item temp operating speeds the same as the Amd ?

Try Motherboard Monitor! I don't know if there is one for free download, but if there isn't, maybe I could figure something out... You can monitor every sensor with it, and also make computer shut down itself hen temperature is too high... Top limit is around 70 C, everything about that could harm your processor... With decent cooling system, your P4 should work on around 40 C without overclocking...

Have U tried Rainys? It's a freeware system monitor with different sinz, can be docked, melded into the desktop, etc. Loads of good features and is very very low on system resources ;)

Download from Rainys homepage: http://vapaa.dc.inet.fi/~rainy/Rainmeter.html

Trust me, this is a cool util and U can even design your OWN skinz :)
